The Jackson North Wind Farm is a major proposed 600 MW renewable energy project located in Queensland’s Western Downs and Maranoa regions. Amber Organisation was engaged to prepare a Heavy Vehicle and Oversize/Overmass (OSOM) Construction Concept Strategy for the project. This comprehensive assessment reviewed the route options available for the transport of general construction equipment and materials to the site using heavy vehicles, as well as the transport of wind turbine components and other OSOM loads. Custom vehicle models were created using computer software to replicate the specifications of the wind turbine blade and tower transport vehicles with detailed swept path assessment carried out for pinch points along the transport routes.
